I enjoy helping to make the garden beautiful for visitors to enjoy. Keeping the lovely Asian garden, rose garden, flowering shrubs and flower beds looking nice and tidy is very satisfying. Weeding, pruning, planting and watering is also therapeuticI highly recommend it!"

Researching the history of Watsonville and Pajaro Valley has become a passion.  Not only am I constantly discovering new connections to my own pioneer family, I am thrilled to help others find information about their families.  It’s like a treasure hunt when we search through old materials and identify previously unknown people.  Visitors are always astounded to learn we have so much history, how organized we are, and how quickly we can locate files. I love working in this happy place!

PVHA staff and volunteers love sharing the history of the valley and are great at matching volunteers with activities that interest them. There are so many ways to help. I've enjoyed helping with the fabulous fashion collection, the Christmas Tea and the Vintage Picnic."

What do I love about PVHA? As a lifelong resident of Watsonville, I thought I knew my community quite well, but every time I'm at PVHA there's something new. I’ve learned so much about preserving our past. Plus I have acquired a number of new friends and reconnected with old friends too.
